China's Mega Projects: Beijing to the World | Inside the New Chinese Silk Road (Documentary)
Chinese president XI Jinping has named it the ‘project of the century.’ Since 2013 China has invested billions into bringing the ‘Middle Kingdom’ to the forefront of global economics and international politics.
What China has baptised ’The New Silk Road’ allows a pair of trainers to be transported by train from China to France in less than two weeks. But they also act as a vehicle for a wave of Chinese expansionism across the world.
In Gwadar, Pakistan, China is excavating a giant port, as well as a spectacular highway that crosses the Himalayas, in order to open the doors to the warm seas. At the limits of their Russian borders in central Asia, along a new railway line that serves Europe, Chinese entrepreneurs have installed special economic zones and casinos in the middle of the desert...

Beijing mega-project: One of world's biggest underground transportation hubs
China's capital Beijing is constructing a 1.3 million-square-meter underground transportation hub in sub-city center in southeastern Tongzhou District. This mega-project, which will be one of the world's largest such hubs in five years, began construction on November 30, 2019.
International and domestic designers studied existing transit-oriented development (#TOD) examples, like China's Shanghai Hongqiao Integrated Hub and Hong Kong West Kowloon Station, and La Défense Station in France, when drawing up plans for the Beijing project.
The three-layer underground station integrates the station and the city proper. People on the ground level won't realize there's a transportation hub below.

Why do they accept Beijing's foolish projects? 9 nations are also on the brink of bankruptcy
After emerging from a civil war in 2009, Sri Lanka, a Southeast Asian country, grew to become a middle- to a high-income country in less than a decade.
At the limits of their Russian borders in central Asia, along a new railway line that serves Europe, Chinese entrepreneurs have installed special economic zones and casinos in the middle of the desert. Further afield than Beijing, in Djibouti, on the Horn of Africa, the Chinese state has recently established a military port, a stone’s throw from the American and French bases, as well as building an ultra modern railway serving Ethiopia. In the wake of these movements, Chinese businesses are swooping down on east African markets, hoping to make the region one of the new workshops of the world.

Among the special features is a design to bring natural light to the platforms on the third underground floor. Passengers waiting on the second underground floor will be able to look down to see whether the trains they are waiting for have arrived below.
A second special feature is the ease of traffic transfer. The transfer distance between two underground lines is nearly zero. Over 450,000 people a day will transit in the huge hub, which will connect three subway and two high-speed train lines and provide airport links. Take a look at the video to see more details about the fantastic design of this mega-project. #ZeroPoverty2020 #MegaProject

Major projects in the sub-administrative center of Tongzhou District in Beijing have resumed construction. Nearly 1,000 workers are back on the project to build the Tongzhou Branch of Beijing Anzhen Hospital, a prestigious 3A general hospital. The facades of three landmarks of the sub-center include a theater, library and museum, and have already been unveiled. The three projects are planned to be completed and put into use at the end of 2022. The sub-center, about 40-minute drive from the city center, serves as one of the several steps to tackle overpopulation, traffic congestion and smog.
